Wind Tunnel Concept Converts Wind Energy Generated by Subway Trains into Electricity

Metropolitan cities around the world build more and more underground subway systems in order to minimize the number of vehicles on the roads. The industrial designers also though to help city authorities by redesigning the current systems, making them more efficient.

A team of Korean designers, Ryu Chan Hyeon, Sinhyung Cho and Hong Sun Hye have developed a new concept underground tunnel for the huge cities that can generate clean electricity using the wind energy produced by passing subway trains. The new system, dubbed Wind Tunnel, is able to generate energy which can be used to power several public facilities on the ground.

According to the designers, most cities from different countries well equipped with subways can implement the wind tunnel to maximize their value.
