If you ever had a 3G mobile phone in your hand, you know that it sometimes remains stuck on data mode and drains all your battery in a matter of hours (and it heats up considerably, too). The same goes with the new iPhone 3G that has just been launched.
Some inventive guys thought about that and quickly improvised a green solution: a solar powered battery charger inside a phone case. It would not only protect the iPhone against scratches and mechanical shocks, but it would also charge a battery inside it (inside the case), and when you put your iPhone back in, it would charge it the same as the regular wall charger.
The ideal working conditions for this invention would be to keep the case in full light, because its battery needs about 10 hours to fully charge, and then, at night, it would refill your iPhone. The case also has an USB socket through which you can charge it from your computer. Their idea is good anyway, because charged, it acts like a backup battery for the times you’re not somewhere grid electricity is.
