Enel Green Power North America (EGP-NA), a leader in renewable energy generation, and Trade Wind Energy began construction of the Rocky Ridge wind farm, owned 51% by EGP-NA.

The wind farm is located in the state of Oklahoma. Enel claims that their investment in this project is of about $250 million.

The new wind farm’s installed capacity will be approximately 150 MW, being equipped with 93 wind turbines 1.6 MW each. When the farm will be operational, it is expected to generate about 630 million kWh annually.

It will provide clean energy for approximately 55,000 households in the U.S., avoiding the annual emission of over 470,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

The amount financed entirely by Enel Green Power is part of the investment program for 2011-2015. The wind farm will be operational in the summer of 2012.

The Rocky Ridge wind farm covers an area of 7.2810 hectares. It is the fourth wind project in which Enel Green Power North America and Trade Wind Energy work through a partnership launched in 2006.
