Motor Trend’s 7th annual “World’s Greatest Drag Race” competition had these cars lined up for drag racing: Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, Aston Martin DB11, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, Ferrari 488 GTB, Lexus LC500, McLaren 570GT, Mercedes-AMG GT R, Nissan GT-R Nismo, Porsche 718 Cayman S, Porsche 911 Turbo S.
And there was a 150hp Mazda MX-5 Miata RF, which was kinda out of the game from the beginning, just by looking at the “specs.” The race took place at the Vandenberg Air Force Base in CA, where Elon Musk’s SpaceX usually launches rockets, among others.
Well, MotorTrend simply replaced the underpowered Miata with a 2017 Tesla Model S P100D.
